WindyK Sandstorm
Born on Feb. 18, 2003 Sandstorm was an immediate star attraction. He is sired by our young stallion *WindyK Troy and out of our big dun mare *Coleche's Diamond. We couldn't have asked for a better first effort from this pair of parents. Sandstorm is a smooth coated Curly that carries enough texture to his coat (and ear hair) to make me suspicious of his possibly being a minimally curly Curly. Of course until we have a genetic test or someone breeds this fine young man, there is no way to know for sure. But I would wager he is hypo-allergenic and will find someone to test this for me. ( I did find someone to test him, and YES he is hypo-allergenic!!)
Sandstorm
accompanied his mom and 6 other Curlies from our herd to the Greater
Northwest Equine Expo in March. He spent four days greeting many of the
thousands of people that passed thru the barn. There was not a little girl in
the place that didn't kiss his nose or pet his neck. He participated in all our
breed demonstrations, cantering along on a pony line with his mom Diamond and
her rider. This colt is an awesome example of all that makes a Curly horse
special.
I would estimate his
mature height at being 15.3 hands. He is a wonderful mover with three very good
gaits. He shows an ability to learn as well as a natural boldness.
